Sutton at 1 month

Sutton McCrae, you are now 5 weeks old. You turned a month last Thursday, March 28th. Your first month has been pretty easy, with only a few small hardships. You are a laid back baby the majority of the time and you have been such a special edition to our family!

Here are some facts about you:
  • At one month you weighed 10 lbs. 2 oz, you gained over 2 lbs your first month. Today, you weighed 10 lbs 8 oz. You are a big boy!
  • We had to switch you to size 1 diapers at 2 weeks.
  • Growing out of most of your newborn clothes and wearing mainly 0-3 months
  • Getting you on a good eat, wake, sleep cycle has been a little difficult but you are doing great now. You nurse every 3 hours during the day, stay awake for about 1-2 hours then nap, and start the cycle over. If you are ever cranky and want to eat more frequently it is at night before bed time.
  • At night, you are sleeping 3-5 hours at a time. You are sleeping in the nap nanny, and you are pretty good about waking to eat and then going right back to sleep which we are very thankful for.
  • Have had some tummy issues, "gunky" eyes, and your little face has been broke out so I took you to the Dr. today. She agreed that you may have a dairy sensitivity so I will be stopping all dairy for a few weeks to see if that helps.
  • Still have red hair and your eyes are starting to get lighter. I think they will be blue.
  • You hate tummy time just like your brother did. You learned very early on how to roll to your back to get out of it. I believe the first time you accomplished that milestone was at 2 weeks.
  • Super strong and doing great at holding your head up.
  • Refused all pacis almost your whole first month but now you will take one the majority of the time even though you would way rather just have your momma.
  • Love your swing and play gym. You are even starting to intentionally move some of the toys on it by swinging your little arms.
  • You have a sweet smile that has started appearing and you are starting to make cooing sounds. Today at the Dr. you smiled and made a laughing sound at her and she said, "well aren't you advanced?!" :)
  • Very curious about the world around you and love to look around at different sounds and things.
  • You love to cuddle and to be swaddled
Sutton, we are so blessed that God chose you to be a member of our family. We all adore you and love you so much!
