I think you could call our Memorial Day weekend this year 50/50. I had that Thursday and Friday off due to the schools being out for the summer. On that Thursday we had our follow-up appointment with the ortho concerning the torticollis and scoliosis. They took the new images and Dr. B walked into the room, asked us how we were doing, and then preceded to ask "I looked at the images...now why are y'all here again?" as he chuckled. We went over the previous diagnosis and he did a few things on Shaw. He then said, "his spine is straighter than an arrow. I don't know what has done it, I can't explain it, but I like it!". So, after being diagnosed almost four months prior, Shaw's spine has completely realigned. I would say that's a sign of Divine Intervention and a good PT (the PT and myself were expecting great news since the outward appearance had improved so much but to see the differences in the x-rays taken in February and now literally took my breath away...no comparison whatsoever!). On Friday, we had a mommy and baby boy day. We ran around town for a little while but mainly stayed at home. We had noticed that week that he wasn't feeling very well but couldn't exactly figure out what was going on. That night he had a low grade fever but nothing Tylenol didn't fix. Saturday morning we woke up, no high fever, so we went to the lake. Josh and I had been contemplating on getting a boat for a few weeks. We both grew up going to the lake and since the town we live in is about 20 minutes from one it would only make perfect sense to get one, right? :) This weekend was Shaw and I's first time on the boat. He LOVED it! My mom always jokes about how Aunt Carly would fall asleep as soon as she heard the motor turned on. Well, he must have gotten that trait from her because if the motor was running he couldn't even keep his eyes open. He also napped for a good thirty minutes while daddy fished and mommy laid out. The weather was great but the water was too cold. We are hoping he will be able to stand it by July-ish. We stayed out on the water for a couple of hours. My parents were headed up to stay for the rest of the weekend so we needed to do some things to prepare for their arrival. When he got home, we took Shaw's temp and it was around 101. I went and bought some Motrin to get it down and it stayed around 99 for the majority of the weekend. He even woke up Saturday night with it around 102. This was only the second time our sweet boy has been sick and the first time his temp has gotten that high and has been over 100 for more than a few hours. Needless to say, we dealt with a pitiful, sick baby for the rest of the weekend. My poor parents came up to spend time with us and spent most of the weekend helping us care for him. They are such great grandparents! By Monday afternoon the temp was gone and we were able to get out of the house again. By that I mean we played in the back yard for approximately 20 minutes. Come to find out, we had our first ear infection times two! Yup, double ear infection as our first go around. So, now we are on our first round of antibiotics a week later and praying we are not about to embark on the adventure of chronic ear infections! Overall, we had a good weekend with some new adventures, good and bad. Josh and my dad spent a lot of their time watching old war movies, which was good because it was a constant reminder of what this weekend is all about. We are so thankful for those that have and are fighting for our country so we can have the freedom to enjoy weekends like this one.

I had to take this picture to remember how long his hair was at 9.5 months! We aren't sure where he gets all of it from?!
