Happy Holiday Weekend

We had a great and long weekend that was MUCH needed. Josh had Friday off with us so we had four days together. We spent our time sitting at home, relaxing, and being out and about; it was a good combination of the two! On the fourth we tried, yes tried, to make it to the pool. We had to make a stop in between and Sutton was screaming at the top of his lungs. I go around to get him out and there is poop EVERY WHERE! We thought we had packed an extra pair of clothes but we were wrong. So, we decided to just go back home and let the boys nap instead. Josh and Shaw played in the sprinkler that afternoon to make up for the pool time :). That night, we watched the fireworks at my grandparents house which is what I grew up doing every 4th. I was so excited to let the boys get to do the same. Friday we got things done at home and just relaxed, and then Saturday we went to the lake all day with my family. It was a great time!! This afternoon we were able to spend some much needed time with Josh's grandparents and ate cake in honor of their 67th Wedding Anniversary. I hope Josh and I get to see 67 years together. What a legacy they have lived and an example of true, unconditional love they are.

I made this yummy fruit pizza that we ate on all weekend

My boys

He was amazed by the sparklers but didn't understand they were fire. Also, I would say the fireworks, in general, scared him a little this year. He would say, "baboom get you, scare you" :(. After a while he got the hang of it and laughed at the big "baboom" they made! Sweet boy.

This boy just chilled the whole time. He is so sweet.

My mom got him and Bliss, my cousin's little girl, these light up American flags. It was probably his favorite thing about the night.

Lake day. Hollywood!

This baby HATED the life jacket this trip. Not sure I can blame him.

Helping Pops fish. By the way, his fishing pole is now at the bottom of the lake. It only made it two lake trips before it disappeared. Oh well, I am sure we will be buying TONS between now and the time they turn 18.

My dad would tell him to get a cricket out and he would say "k, get cricket!" and stick his hand right in and pick one up. All boy!

He loves being on the boat!

We met some of our family friends for some swimming.

Out like a light!

Love this girl with all my heart!

And he does too....

Josh's Nanny holding Sutton. This is the first time they had seen him and she kept going on and on about how much he looked like Josh's dad as a baby. I know that had to be good for her heart! It made me so happy and sad. We miss him so much and know the boys would just love their Poppa!

We had a great holiday weekend and we are so grateful for all those that have and are currently defending our freedom. Thank you for allowing me to enjoy my family and friends this weekend!
