Sylvie 8 months

Sylvie Reid turned 8 months this past Monday. The 7th month was a big one for our sweet girl! She met some milestones and grew a whole month older. I thought time went by fast with the first, but by the time you get to the third time flies by at an unreal speed. I feel like I am living in the Matrix or something. Here is all about our big 8 months old:

  • She started crawling the week before she turned 8 months. It's still the mixture between an army crawl and 4-pt crawl but she gets where she wants to go.
  • She weighs 18 lb. 3 oz. and her height is still right at average
  • Size 3 diapers but will be going to 4s when we buy them next.
  • She puts EVERYTHING in her mouth. Her brothers never did this so it is new to me and I have to be on high alert as I have already fished several inedible objects out of her mouth.
  • She does not like for her toys to be taken away and screams/cries when her brothers do so.
  • She has two teeth now, the bottom two.
  • Her hair has stayed a light brown/blond and it is getting longer!
  • She is saying several words and syllable sounds. She finally added mama to the mix as well as bubba and bye bye.
  • This past week she has gone on an eating strike. Not finishing bottles at the sitters and eating less but is still nursing fine.
  • Has mastered feeding herself this past month. She can pick up items and get them in her mouth the majority of the time.
  • Usually sleeps from 7:30-4:00
  • Takes a long morning nap and sometimes an afternoon nap
  • I noticed her turning on toys this past week by pushing buttons with her index finger!
  • Is usually shy around strangers
  • LOVES her Daddy and has missed him since he has been gone. Two more weeks and he will be home for good!
  • Learned to give kisses this past month. I'll say "sissy give me a kiss" and she lands a big, open mouth kiss on me and will sometimes making the smacking noise.
  • Went to the chiropractor all this month and we have seen great results!
We love you, sister! You are still such a smiling, lovable baby who has really started to know what she wants and doesn't want. I pray you keep your gentle nature and always light up the room with your smile.
