The Day of Love
Since he had to miss the Christmas party, we were so thankful Shaw was able to enjoy all the festivities at his Valentine's party. He had a great time and loved every minute. That morning he asked me several times if I would be there with him and reassured him I would be. I am so grateful for my flexible job so I can attend all the little things! That weekend we gave the kids their gifts and then went on a simple date night. The boys got camo boots and sister got a Baltic amber necklace. Josh also got her an "add-a-pearl" necklace that he plans to add pearls to it every year. We had a great time celebrating love!!
Sylvie 3 months
FLOWN BY! Whoa, how fast 1/4 of a year has already come and gone. This past month has been a blast with this sweet girl. It makes it easier that she has been sleeping 7+ hours at night all month, most nights 8-9 hours. She is so sweet and boy does she already know how to work us over with her smile. She smiles and her daddy melts into a puddle. She is so fun and the boys absolutely adore her, so much that they literally can't keep their hands off of her :). Here is all about our big 3 month old:
- On your 3 month birthday, February 13th, you weighed 12 lb. 1.5 oz.
- You are still (barely) wearing size 1 diapers. Once we run out of what little we have left, we will move on to 2s.
- Can wear a few 0-3 months things but mainly in 3-6 month now.
- Started sleeping through the night the week you turned 2 months. Some nights you will wake after just 7 hours, but most nights you sleep 8:30ish-5:30ish
- Into the grabbing stage. EVERYTHING! Hair, toys on your play gym, necklaces.
- Enjoy tummy time and has started grabbing at toys while laying on your belly. You try to get your knees under you as well.
- Still love your swing, play mat, sleeping on your belly, and riding in the car.
- Laughed at mommy for the first time the day before you turned 3 months and has now done it a few times.
- Talks and coos at us all day long. You say the sweetest "words" we have ever heard!!
- You take 5 oz. in your bottle the days you are with the sitter.
- Roll to your side to grab a toy on the play mat or watch your brothers play.
- Love watching TV
- Enjoy bath time
- Started drooling a lot this past week but I am believing you will be like your brothers and not start teething for a couple more months
- Sweet, sweet nature and happy all the time.
Happy 3 months, sis. We love you!

Christmas 2014
This Christmas was different and unlike non other! We spent December 20-22 in the hospital for Sylvie to continue to recover from RSV so we knew our Christmas would be sparse with family time. We decided having grandparents come over on Christmas morning would be our best bet to keep germs away. Luckily, the boys are still young enough and they didn't know what they were missing out on. Shaw also had to miss his first preschool Christmas party but we didn't mention it to him in hopes he wouldn't either, and he didn't. I hated it more than he did. Christmas Even we continued traditions like reading the Christmas story and then after sleeping in, the boys were able to open all their gifts in front of grandparents on Christmas morning. Later that day, Josh took them to his moms while I stayed at home with Syvlie. The week after Christmas, my brother's family came into town and we were able to celebrate with them! Even though this year was a tad different, we know we have many more years to come to celebrate with all of our extended family!
Sylvie 2 Months
Welp, you can imagine how having 3 kids is considering I am over two weeks late at writing this post! YIKES!!! They keep me beyond busy! So, here I am writing this and she is already almost 3 months old. Here is our sweet girl at 2 months old!
- At her 2 month check up she weighed 10 lb. 14.3 oz (45%) and 21.75 in (17%)
- Up until the week she turned 2 months, she was still waking 1-2x at night and sleeping the majority of the time in bed with us. (She is now sleeping through the night!!YAY!)
- She rolled over 2x her second month from belly to back
- She started talking and cooing more
- Smiling all the time!
- We spent most of her second month inside after our scare with RSV
- Loves this month: play mat, swing, and sleeping on her belly
- Discovered her hands and tongue! She loves to click her tongue and hold her hands together!
- Still loves car rides
- Loves to eat and started taking a bottle better, nurses around 7-8x a day
- Still no paci (and I've given up! She will be our first one who doesn't taken one)
- Loves watching things and people around the room.
- Tracking well and loves watching the TV and other bright lights.
- No more crying at night (momma stopped drinking caffeine and she started a probiotic). Thankful for no more crying from 9-11 every night like before!
Sylvie you are a sweet, sweet angel baby and we are so thankful for you! You are momma's love bug and you complete our family. We love you, baby girl!
Fall 2014 in pictures
Shaw went to preschool! He did great (and still is) on his first day but Momma cried like a baby.
I decided to take the boys to the fair one night while Josh was at class. I was 8 months pregnant and it was scolding hot! Luckily, I have the best parents in the world and they came to help me!
Trip to Dallas. We enjoyed eating yummy food, a little shopping, the Dallas World Aquarium, and Josh competed in Tough Mudder.
Sweet shower for our girl. Our Sunday School class also put on a couples night out to celebrate her!
Pumpkin patch with Shaw's preschool.
A friend's birthday party at the pumpkin patch they own. Super fun!
Preschool Halloween party.
Our sweet Copper and Tod. They were the cutest!
......AND then we became a family of five!!
