Iced In

This past weekend, we got iced in for a few days. You never know what you're going to get with Arkansas weather. The days before it was 75-80 degrees, then it snowed and iced for well over 24 hours straight. Even though I say we were iced in, we really got out for a bit on Saturday and Sunday, but the roads were not the safest. People in the northern part of the state, where we lived last year, are still snowed/iced in. I am just thankful we didn't get that much and that we had power the entire time! I am also thankful that the terrible sickness the boys had the week before left us before the storm hit. We are still dealing this week with lingering symptoms (wet cough and runny noses).

We did lots of different things to make staying inside more fun. It's a little difficult with a two year old that is used to going outside every day, but we managed and had a great weekend with lots of family time.

Playing with shaving cream, one of his favorite things to do.

hmmm...the older boy has the younger boy's paci.

We made sandwiches.

Shaw tried to feed Sutton, he wasn't very interested.

The dogs played inside the entire weekend, which drove me crazy! :)

We ventured outside for a short time. Sutton and I only made it about 10 minutes.

Sweet boy's first snow/ice

Saturday, we decided to challenge the roads and went to the new Bass Pro to see Santa. We did a lot of coaxing but finally got Shaw to sit in his lap. Once again, he has the paci.

Sunday morning, our church was canceled and we spent the morning reading books and playing games in the massive quilt fort we made.

Great weekend!
